About the Blog

Read blogs about the life and works of Robert Burns; learn about his friends, family and acquaintances; find out more about the Scots language and other Scottish writers who have wrote in it; investigate Scottish history, tradition and culture; take a closer look at our collections, sites and resources; see behind-the-scenes posts about our events, activities and latest initiatives at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum or within the wider National Trust for Scotland charity.

Our blogs are researched and written by current staff and volunteers of the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.

The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum offers a truly unique encounter with Scotland’s favourite son. It comprises of the famous Burns Cottage where the poet was born, the historic landmarks where he set his greatest work ‘Tam O’ Shanter’, the elegant Burns Monument and gardens created in his honour and a modern museum (housing the world’s most important collection of his life and works) which has a cafe, shop, play-park and event spaces for hire.
